Purpose & Overview
Pre-Arrest Diversion (P.A.D.) is an alternative to first time, non-domestic, misdemeanor arrests. P.A.D. is based on an intervention and diversion model that provides law enforcement a discretionary tool to divert adults from an arrest while still ensuring public safety and accountability. Completing the program will mean that you will not receive a criminal record.
Eligibility
Any adult who commits an eligible non-violent misdemeanor or violates a county or municipal ordinance and lives in Miami Dade or Broward County.
You will not be eligible if any of the following applies:
- Prior criminal convictions;
- Previous felony arrests which resulted in a “Nolle Prose”
- Completed a pre-trial diversion or pre-trial intervention program;
- Previously completed P.A.D. program or
- Have no verifiable form of identification.
