1. Who works in the RTCC?

The Center is staffed with Crime Analysts and sworn personnel.

2. What is the goal of the RTCC for the City of Miami Gardens?

The goal of the RTCC is to use multiple forms of technology to curb crime in the city. Some of this technology includes the implementation of gunfire detection software, License Plate Readers and CCTV cameras.

3. Can Miami Gardens businesses share or give the RTCC access to their on-site camera systems?

Yes. Miami Gardens businesses and residents can apply to participate in our “SafeCam Program” which would authorize the RTCC to access their on-site surveillance cameras in an emergency if needed.

4. Has the RTCC experienced any success yet?

Yes. The RTCC has several success stories already where our implemented systems have assisted both Patrol and Investigations with several cases.

5. Is the RTCC like Big Brother, always watching us?

No. The RTCC does not constantly monitor cameras. Surveillance camera systems will be actively monitored on a case-by-case basis if needed or during an emergency event.
