Operations Division Captain

Capt. Adams is an active law enforcement veteran. He is a decorated combat veteran from Vietnam. He served 34 years with the Miami-Dade Police Department as an Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Firearms Range Master, and SRT Team Leader/Trainer. He was then employed as a private contractor to the Department of State in Afghanistan for over two years.

Capt. Adams is an active instructor in multiple disciplines to include Mobile Field Force Training, firearms/chemical agents, Officer Survival Techniques, firearms, building search techniques, vehicle stops, Special Response Team Basic Certification School, Officer Field Survivor Instructors Course, Firearms Instructor Training Course, SRT Sniper Course, Use of Force, Instructor for The Southeast Florida Criminal Justice Institute, Officer Survival, Lead Instructor for Basic Law Enforcement Firearms Instruction (taught in basic and advanced courses for departmental, city, county, state and federal agencies), Critical Incident Management Instructor/Trainer,  Weapons of Mass Destruction Instructor, Rapid Deployment/First Responder, Original member/founder/developer of Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) later known as Special Response Team (SRT), Master Team Leader/Instructor, Developed and Supervised 19 SRT schools. Captain Adams was part of approximately 700 callouts to include High Risk Warrants, Barricaded subject(s) (both armed/unarmed), Hostage Rescues, Dignitary Protection (Presidential, Papal Visit, County Manager/Family, Summit of The Americas, Prisoner/Witness Protection),Court Certified Expert Witness for Firearms Training, Officer Survival Techniques , SWAT Tactics and Training.
