Police Chaplain Program

Purpose & Overview

The Police Chaplain Program provides 24-hour a day response and assistance to the Miami Gardens Police Department’s employees, as well as citizens of the community, if a critical incident occurs. They administer support, guidance, counseling, consultation, and other forms of human crisis intervention to those in need. They also provide support to Miami Gardens Police Department personnel, their families, and traumatized individuals of the community when needed or upon request.

Eligibility

  • Submit a resume and three letters of recommendation.
  • Be a resident of the State of Florida.
  • Be an Ordained or Licensed member of the Clergy.
  • Have never been convicted of a criminal offense nor any offense involving moral turpitude.
  • Approval by the Chief of Police.
