Residents & Small Business Programs
The Office of Procurement Management strives to obtain maximum competition and assist local businesses and residents through the award of contracts for the City's purchases of goods and services.
The City of Miami Gardens is committed to helping resident's secure gainful employment, spurring economic development and stimulating small business growth in the City. In June 2015, in line with this goal, the City Council approved the City of Miami Gardens Business and Resident Economic Growth Plan (CMG-BREP) and the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) programs. These programs provide a gateway to support the growth and sustainability of the City of Miami Gardens community.
City of Miami Gardens Business and Resident Economic Growth Plan (CMG-BREP)
The City of Miami Gardens Business Resident Economic Growth Plan (CMG-BREP) program help residents secure and maintain gainful employment by establishing a preference within the contracting process, for businesses preparing a plan to provide employment, training, apprenticeship, or mentoring opportunities to City residents. CMG-BREP Requirements for Residents
All residents that wish to participate in the CMG-BREP program must register with South Florida Workforce Investment Board dba CareerSource South Florida. Please visit CareerSource South Florida website for your nearest location at the CareerSource's website. CareerSource is located at:

CMG-BREP Requirements for Firms
All businesses applying for procurement preference under this policy shall register with CareerSource by contacting South Florida Workforce Investment Board dba CareerSource South Florida any time prior to a bid opening.
Small Business Enterprise (SBE)
The City of Miami Gardens Small Business Enterprise (SBE) policy applies to all City of Miami Gardens certified SBEs bidding on contracts valued at $50,000 or below. The goal of the program is to stimulate small business growth by increasing the number of small businesses acting as prime contractors or consultants for the City of Miami Gardens. Please refer to the City's Ordinance for complete program requirements.
SBE Eligibility Requirements
- The firm must be independent and owner operated.
- The firm must have a continuing operating presence in the City of Miami Gardens for at least one year prior to submitting an application.
