Street Crimes Unit


Since the incorporation of the Miami Gardens Police Department, the Street Crimes Unit, the has been proactively investigating criminal street gang activities which include the apprehension of burglars, robbers and individuals wanted on active homicide cases. The unit has identified over 100 gang members who reside in the City of Miami Gardens and has also identified over (ten) 10 different active gangs. The Street Crimes Unit has worked hand and hand with the Miami Gardens Department of Parks and Recreations in conducting truancy sweeps and gang suppression initiatives.


This proactive unit identifies active gangs and members in Miami Gardens. They target areas that are experiencing a rise in crime trends and gang activities. They participate in various events that mentor youthful offenders and assist State Probation and Parole with compliance sweeps. .
